TAP Patient Interface

Project Overview
TAP is a patient interface designed to capture patient-reported data in an easy, safe, and HIPAA Compliant manner. For this project we were tasked with redesigning the interface to be more cohesive and appealing in order to encourage long-term use and on-going interaction.

TAP Patient Interface: Overview of Final Product

Project Objectives
  • Increase elements of engagement: To encourage engagement, the client wanted to incorporate a 'gamification' system. In addition to scoring points for completing assignments, badges can be earned and are added to a patient's dashboard.
  • Redesign to be more cohesive: To support intuitive usability and increase overall visual appeal, assessments needed to appear visually cohesive even when administered in different formats.
In support of these objectives I also developed and implemented the following practices: integrating marketing communications by ensuring that all marketing and communication efforts aligned with brand messaging to maintain consistency across various platforms and touchpoints, centralizing brand assets to make it easy for everyone creating content to access and use approved brand assets, and conducting regular brand audits.
Design Process
  • Ideate: To kickoff the project, our team engaged in several seasons of collaborative brainstorming, met with key stakeholders to present and analyze potential solutions, and decided on the best options to pursue based on 2 rounds of high-fidelity wireframes.
  • Prototype: Once high-fidelity wireframes were signed off, I turned my focus to user interaction and by creating a complete, high-fidelity prototype.

Watch: TAP Assessment Progress Bar.

  • Test: After testing and iterating on the prototype to ensure usability, I presented the prototype to the team to get feedback and iterations of the design if necessary. During this phase of testing, we gained the insight that users completing assessments with a 'sliding scale' answering tool were more likely to just click through and not actively complete the assessment, so changes were made to the button interactions to encourage active participation.

Watch: TAP Assessment Buttons are greyed out until answer is selected on sliding scale assessment questions.
